8/23/2008 Dog Days 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Did you know that Spencer Crest Nature Center is a great place to walk your dog? With over nine miles of trails on 250 acres with varying levels of difficulty, there is something for all breeds – large or small.Bring your dog to the “Dog Days of Spencer Crest” for a special canine event. Have your dogs “pawtrait” taken by local canine photographer Paul Fletcher. Take out a Spencer Crest Pet Membership, and your pal gets treats when he or she comes to walk the trails. Have your dog make a “pawtographed” piece of pottery with Amanda from Earth, Paint and Fire studio.
Finally, enjoy a Doggie Ice Cream Social compliments of Deana Wolfe, owner of Country Hospetality Lodge & Pet Pantry. She will be serving her renowned "Doggie Day Camp Ice Creams", a healthy assortment of homemade organic frozen yogurt & non-dairy pupsicles.
All with an inclusive price of $15.00 for dog members and $20.00 for non-dog members.
9/27/2008 * Star Trek Voyage 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM Since pre-history, people have been looking up at the skies and wondering what was out there. Well, come to our Star Trek and we can show you some of those things! We’ll tell stories about the constellations that we can find, show you some sights through a telescope, and give you a little history about our 20” Palomar scale-model telescope that we have here at Corning Community College. You will also be treated to a planetarium show, with all its sights and sounds, and then take a short hike back to the Nature Center for refreshments and more star-gazing. The stars have been there for billions of years and will remain for billions more; but while we’re here on Earth, we can learn a little something about those giant, far away objects.

Come take a Star Trek Voyage with us on Saturday, September 27th at 8:00 pm.
Please pre-register by calling the Nature Center at 962-9012, by Thursday, September 25th.
The cost is a modest $5 per person, including parents.
The only thing you need to bring is your imagination and your curiosity. We'll meet at the Corning Community College Planetarium. Hope to see you there!
