Spencer Crest Nature Center in Corning NY is now part of Corning Community College. It provides environmental, educational and recreational activities for the greater Corning area. The Center features 250 acres and 7 miles of trails with two ponds, a stream and a museum of natural systems which includes changing displays, an apiary and an environmentally sensitive design. We have one professional staff member as well as additional college-trained student guides, all supported by a volunteer Advisory Board composed of college faculty, staff, and other members of the community expressing an interest in environmental education. The Nature Center Interpretive Center has been renovated and is ready for your visits. The trails are open too (you can bring your pet !!) from dawn until dusk. Don’t miss our Fibonocci Trail!

A Moonlight Walk at Spencer Crest Nature Center.

This hike will be for the brave who would like to walk on well established trails in Spencer Crest Nature Center. Hikers will gather at the Nature Center around sunset to prepare for a walk in the moonlight (No clouds in Upstate NY!!)

Hikers will follow the blazed trails with headlamps and flashlights (bring your own) as an out and back hike in the dark. The length of the hike will be determined by the participants with many opportunities to shorten or lengthen the hike.

This hike is designed for all hikers including families. Dress for the weather including good footwear. (The trail may be wet and uneven in spots.)
